LAFTA  ART IN THE PARK 2010
ARTIST INFORMATION SHEET

CRITERIA FOR EXHIBIT

SCULPTURE: 3 Large Scale Outdoor Sculptures will be selected by a Panel.
Large scale, free standing and interactive sculptures are encouraged. May be Colorful, Solid, Simple, Iconic, and Humorous. The subject matter should be tasteful and family oriented and will contribute to the quality of life for both the citizens of Lampasas and visiting tourist. All works must be of original design and execution, and must be available to install on April 24, 2010. In the event that the piece is purchased during the exhibit year, the purchaser is asked to leave the piece until the next sculpture change. If this is not possible, the artist shall replace the sculpture with a sculpture which is mutually agreed upon by both parties. If LAFTA finds a buyer for sculpture a 15% commission will be paid to LAFTA by the Artist upon the sale of sculpture.          

 

SCULPTURE must be ready to be attached to a concrete pad 5x5. Installation is the artist’s
Responsibility but LAFTA will provide help and equipment if needed. Each selected artist will be paid $1,000.00 to transport, install and remove the sculpture that will be displayed for one year. Insurance is provided by the City of Lampasas. Wood Sculpture is accepted however is not insured, risk is assumed by Artist.

PHOTOGRAPH: Digital photo is preferred. A photograph of the work is required for judging, self directed walking tour and publicity. A statement from the Artist about the sculpture for promotion and education is required.
                                     
ARTIST: Art In The Park is an invitational exhibit which is open to any professional artist. Digital photos are preferred.  A photo of the artist, biographical information and a brief resume is required.

ARTIST: LAFTA provides: 1 night accommodations for April 24, 2010, Gift Basket, Lunch, Hospitality Tent (coffee, snacks, water) available to artist April 24, 2010.  Public Reception and Dinner Celebration.

ENTRY FEE: NO ENTRY FEE

EXHIBIT SCHEDULE:
Entry Deadline: FEBRUARY 26, 2009   NO ENTRY FEE
Notification of Acceptance: First week in March
Remove 2009 Sculptures: APRIL 17, 2010
Install Sculptures 2010: April 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
Public Reception and Celebration Dinner
