The Art in the Park 2009 is an invitational event and celebration of outdoor sculpture. 5 artists will be chosen from a large number of applicants. Artists are selected on the basis of the originality, artistic conception, and quality of their work.
This is a wonderful opportunity for sculptors of large outdoor works to exhibit in a park environment in a small, friendly town at a busy Central Texas crossroads between Austin and Dallas/Ft Worth.
This is an invitational event. A jury panel, will choose five sculptors to exhibit their work in city owned Campbell Park also known as Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden.
Each sculptor will receive an award of $1,000.00 on completion of installation, April 25, 2009. The work must remain in the park for one year.
The parks proximity to historic downtown Lampasas makes it a possible for many residents and school children, as well as out of town, to visit the sculpture and experience art.
Art in the Park is an annual event sponsored by Lampasas Association for the Arts.
